Scientific Programme:
Medico-biological and clinical research for the treatment of cancer patients with beams of heavy nuclear particles of the JINR Phasotron and for the accompanying diagnostics.

Expected main results in 2005:

Continuation of clinical researches on proton therapy of cancer patients in room No 1.
Approval of the technique and instrumentation to perform irradiation of patients in supine position in treatment sessions.
Clinical approval of method and equipment for irradiation of prostate cancer patients with a proton beam.
Development and improvement of detectors and tools for clinical dosimetry of the medical hadron beams.
Investigations on the molecular spectra of gene mutations induced by radiation in animal and human cells.
The computer simulation of 3-D genome macro architecture in the irradiated animal germ cells with the "position effect" of gene.
