Keywords: Nuclear multifragmentation, Intermediate mass fragments, Statistical model, Partitions, Monte Carlo simulation, Nuclear physics, Nuclear reactions, Statistical physics, Thermodynamics.
Programming language used: Fortran
Computer: PC pentium II , PC pentium III , laptops .

Nature of physical problem:
The breakup of excited nuclei into many pieces of intermediate sizes is described through a statistical model which assumes prompt breakup of a thermalized system.

Method of solution:
Owing to the huge number of partitions which should be considered, a Monte Carlo sample of the most important ones is performed in the available phase space. Memory storage required: Approximately 7N**2 double precision words and N**2 (integer) words, where N is the largest mass number of the system. The parameter statements in the program provide the default value N = 500.

Typical running time:
316 elapsed seconds for the test run given in this paper (Compaq Presario 1200XL310, Celeron 600MHz).
