Distribution format: tar gzip file
Operating system: MacOS, Red Hat Linux
Number of lines in distributed program, including test data, etc:
1004
Supplementary material:
QuickTime Movie
Programming language used: Mathematica
Computer: PowerMacintosh G3/266
Nature of physical problem:
A general Mathematica application is presented that allows for the
production of individual frames as well as movies (angle to time
conversion) to visualize the charge cloud distribution of collisionally
excited states [1-3].
Method of solution
Input data representing complex scattering amplitudes are converted into
general formulas that describe the charge cloud of interest. Individual
frames are produced and exported into a frame-to-movie converter.
Restrictions on the complexity of the problem
Limitations are set by the available RAM and disk memory.
Typical running time
The test run performed to compute eleven picture frames took 26 seconds
on a PowerMacintosh G3/266. In addition, it took approximately four
minutes to output the EPS files on this machine.
